Get your golf bag setup right in golfity. Add, remove, and reorder your clubs in a couple of minutes so your shot tracking and per-club stats stay accurate.

Your golf bag setup is the one piece of configuration in golfity that quietly shapes every stat you see later. When the clubs in the app match the clubs in your bag, your shot tracking gets faster and your per-club numbers actually mean something. When they do not, you spend the round scrolling past a 5 Wood you sold last spring.

This guide walks through club configuration in golfity: where to find it, how to edit your set, and why it matters for strokes gained analysis.

Where Your Clubs Live

Open the Profile tab, go to Settings, and tap Your Clubs. You will see your current bag listed top to bottom, usually driver down through putter, with a count at the top so you can check it against the 14 clubs the rules allow you to carry.

New accounts start with a standard set already loaded:

  • Driver, 3 Wood, 5 Wood
  • 4 Hybrid, 5 Hybrid
  • 4 through 9 Iron
  • PW, GW, SW, LW
  • Putter

That is 16 entries on purpose. Most golfers carry some subset of it, so it is faster to delete the two or three clubs you do not own than to build a bag from nothing.

Editing Your Bag

Three actions cover almost everything you will want to do on the Your Clubs screen.

Add a club. Type the name into the field at the top, for example 3 Hybrid or 60 Wedge, and tap Add. golfity rejects duplicates, so you cannot end up with two clubs named the same thing.

Remove a club. Tap the trash icon next to any club and confirm. This is what most new users do first, trimming the default set down to what they actually carry.

Reorder a club. Use the up and down arrows to move a club through the list. Ordering it the way your bag is arranged makes the club picker faster during a round, since the club you reach for is roughly where your eye expects it.

To rename a club, remove it and add the corrected name. When the bag looks right, tap Save Changes. If you ever want to start over, Reset to Default drops you back to the standard set.

A note on naming: keep your wedges specific. Labeling them PW, 52, 56, and 60 instead of four generic “Wedge” entries pays off later, because golfity reports distances and strokes gained per club and you will want to tell them apart.

Why Accurate Clubs Change Your Stats

Club configuration is not cosmetic. Two parts of the app read directly from your bag.

During a round, every shot you log offers your club list in the picker. A clean, accurate list means you tap the right club in one motion instead of hunting. If you would rather not pick a club at all on a given round, you can skip club selection entirely and still get your strokes gained numbers.

After a round, golfity ties the distance and result of each shot to the club you hit it with. After a handful of tracked rounds, that builds two things worth having:

  • Reliable average distances per club, so the gap between your 7 iron and 8 iron stops being a guess.
  • Per-club strokes gained, so you can see which clubs are quietly costing you shots versus your chosen benchmark.

That second number is the one that surprises people. A club can feel comfortable and still lose strokes. The data does not care how a swing feels, only where the ball ends up, which is the whole point of the approach to analytics golfity is built on.

A Two-Minute Setup That Pays Off for Months

Get your bag right once and you rarely touch it again. Swap a club in real life, mirror it in the app, and your stats stay clean.

If you are brand new, the complete getting started guide puts club setup in context alongside your handicap benchmark and your first tracked round. Set your clubs honestly today, track a few rounds, and the per-club picture you get back will be worth far more than the two minutes it took.
